Backyard Homesteading

You Can Homestead on Less than an Acre

Over the last few years millions of families have joined the homegrown movement, raising healthier and tastier food than anything they had ever bought at the grocery store. Gardens are expanding, potted herbs are multiplying, and more chickens are being added to their flocks as these families experience the satisfaction and freedom of homesteading.

You can grow hundreds of pounds of fruits and vegetables and even raise animals right in your own backyard. Whether you want some advice on getting started, need some tips on how to expand your current operation, or want someone to plan and build it from the ground up, I can help you create your homestead.

We recently hired David to help us on our suburban homestead. We had ideas but not the skills to implement them. We are retired and have limited space. David carefully listened to our ideas and limitations. He gave input and ideas but never tried to upsell anything. He worked quickly and efficiently. He evaluated materials we had from previous projects and utilized them first. Our favorite is the gate he crafted from old cedar slabs we had. He fashioned them into a functional and beautiful gate leaving the live edges intact. Beyond the gate we now have a dedicated space where the chickens are busy making compost. We are looking forward to the increased efficiency and productivity. Thank you David!

About Me

In 2013, I took my family on a vacation to the central coast of CA. During that week we milked a family cow and had access to all the fresh raw milk and eggs we could handle. That trip changed the trajectory of my life.
